About Research at YBN University
YBN University is committed to fostering a vibrant culture of research, innovation, and scholarly inquiry across all its schools and departments. Research at YBN is driven by the belief that knowledge creation is as important as knowledge dissemination — and that our students and faculty are best positioned to address the complex challenges facing Jharkhand, India, and the world.
The University’s research ecosystem is anchored by six specialized laboratories, an active Research Cell, industry collaborations, and a growing portfolio of funded projects from agencies including DST, ICMR, DBT, UGC, and AICTE. Our research agenda spans artificial intelligence, pharmaceutical sciences, clinical health, legal studies, paramedical sciences, and education research.

Eligibility Check
Master’s degree with minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD) in relevant discipline
from a recognized university.

Entrance Examination
Appear in YBN University Research Entrance Test (RET) or submit valid NET / JRF / GATE / SLET score for exemption.

Interview / Presentation
Shortlisted candidates appear for a Research Proposal Presentation before the Departmental Research Committee (DRC).

Supervisor Allotment
Research supervisor is allotted based on research area alignment, supervisor capacity, and departmental recommendation.
05
Registration & Course Work
Formal PhD registration followed by mandatory one-semester course work in Research Methodology and subject-specific modules.
06
Research Progress Review
Bi-annual progress review before the DRC. Minimum 3 years to maximum 6 years for full-time; up to 8 years part-time.

- Submit work through anti-plagiarism tools before publication or thesis submission
- Obtain informed consent from all human participants in research studies
- Report research misconduct or unethical practices through official channels
- Attend mandatory Research Progress Review meetings as per schedule
- Maintain proper laboratory notebooks and research logs at all times
- Respect confidentiality of research data, findings, and participant information
- Fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of research data in any form
- Plagiarism — presenting others’ work, ideas, or data as your own without attribution
- Ghost authorship, gift authorship, or omission of legitimate co-authors
- Duplicate submission of the same research to multiple journals simultaneously
- Misuse of research funds, equipment, or university resources
- Conducting research on human subjects without proper ethics clearance
- Unauthorized disclosure of confidential research findings or sponsor data
